Workshop – Till Death Us Do Part? Ill Health and the Ageing Population
Ill health issues cause some of the biggest headaches for employers. With the abolition of the default retirement age next year, combined with the inevitable decline in health as the population ages, this issue will become even more important for those with responsibility for employees.
We will be running a workshop event on Thursday 18 November 2010 to talk about this topic. We will have a brief initial presentation, after which we will work through practical examples and have group discussions about issues including:
– Disability discrimination and reasonable adjustments – the latest developments
– Dealing with issues sympathetically but firmly
– Managing health issues connected with ageing
– The Equality Act and the ban on pre-employment health questions
– Overlapping poor performance and ill health
The event will be held at the Assembly Rooms in the Council House, North Street, Chichester, PO19 1LQ and we will meet at 8am for an 8.30am start. We do not have a fixed end time, but we will probably finish at around 10am. There is no charge for this event, and refreshments will be provided. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so please register by completing the form below to reserve your place.
The seminar is is aimed at those who have responsibility for HR, but we’d be delighted to welcome you whatever your background. Please feel free to pass the details on to any colleagues or contacts who you think might benefit from this event.
